Unknown Individual Threatens to Blow Up Brussels Metro
An unknown individual has sent a letter threatening to blow up the Brussels metro to the European Commission located in the Belgian capital. This information has been reported by RIA Novosti, citing 'Le Soir.'
The police have conducted checks and found no explosives, but vigilance remains high. 'The European Commission announced yesterday evening that it received a letter in Russian threatening an explosion in the metro on March 8,' the media outlet reports.
According to the publication, the individual had previously sent another letter to the Commission, which did not contain any threats, whereas in the latest letter, the author threatened to eliminate the LGBTQ and other minorities, as well as the heads of states and governments of EU countries, in response to the EU's aggressive policies.
It has been reported that the Brussels prosecutor's office is conducting an investigation and is searching for the author or authors of the letter, while the railway police have carried out checks throughout the night and increased patrols at metro stations in the capital.
