Jeyhun Bayramov Explains Closure of Stepanakert-Lachin Road

“The failure to meet the legitimate demands of the Azerbaijani side has led to the protest action on the Stepanakert-Lachin road,” said Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov while addressing reporters, once again justifying the illegal actions of activist groups affiliated with the government that present themselves as ‘environmentalists.’

He described the demands of the protesters in the Lachin corridor as ‘reasonable.’

In response to a question about Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s upcoming visit to Azerbaijan next week, Bayramov stated that both bilateral relations and regional issues would be discussed during the meeting with his Russian counterpart.

“I think this meeting will be a good opportunity. In addition to our bilateral relations, regional issues will also be on the agenda,” said Bayramov.
