Cowardly and Cynical: Zakharova on NATO
Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, has described the unwillingness of the United States and other NATO countries to recognize themselves as parties to the conflict in Ukraine as the pinnacle of cynicism and cowardice. She made this statement during a press briefing in Moscow.
“NATO member states are generally indifferent to the fact that the targets are residential areas, schools, hospitals, kindergartens, and their NGOs remain silent as well. They rarely allow themselves to say anything. Even after that, NATO countries, with innocent looks, try to prove to the world that they are not parties to the conflict,” said Zakharova.
She also noted that NATO's involvement in the conflict is maximal: “cynicism and cowardice—to admit their participation in the crimes committed by Ukrainian soldiers.”
