VIDEO: Erdogan Talks About Attempts of Looting After Earthquake

Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has spoken about attempts to loot that have occurred following the devastating earthquake in the country. This was reported by Hurriyet.

“Unfortunately, there are attempts of looting in the markets. Under the state of emergency, the government will intervene in these robberies with the approval of the parliament,” Erdogan said.

As of the latest reports, more than 14,000 people have died in the devastating earthquake that struck Turkey on February 6, and nearly 65,000 have been affected. An international headquarters for the aftermath of the earthquake has been established in Turkey's Kahramanmaras province, with 11 countries participating.

The Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority reported that rescuers have successfully evacuated more than 28,000 people from the disaster zone.
