VIDEO: Pashinyan Describes Baku's Plans
During a government meeting, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan addressed the situation resulting from the closure of the Lachin corridor.
“Not content with closing the Lachin corridor, Azerbaijan is also shutting down the gas pipeline, opening it 10% later, then closing it again, and so forth. Azerbaijan continually employs gas pressure as a tool, which is condemnable. For 46 days, normal life in Nagorno-Karabakh has been disrupted, and a humanitarian crisis is unfolding in full swing.
There are rolling blackouts in Nagorno-Karabakh because Azerbaijan has also disrupted the operations of the lines that supply electricity to the region, meaning residents are only receiving power based on the production capacity of local plants, which is insufficient. Essential goods are being provided through a rationing system.
According to the information we have, Baku's plan is as follows: to exert economic and psychological pressure on Nagorno-Karabakh until it reaches a certain climax, then open the corridor for a few days with the expectation that the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh will leave their homes in large numbers, close the corridor again, and then reopen it for several more days until the last Armenian leaves Nagorno-Karabakh. This is a clear policy of ethnic cleansing,” Pashinyan stated.
