VIDEO. We Are Now Paying Off Soldiers' Debts from the 2000s, Says Deputy Minister of Defense
During a meeting of the National Assembly's Standing Committee on Defense and Security, committee member Gegham Nazaryan presented a draft law proposed by the "Armenia" faction regarding guarantees for the families of soldiers who died for the defense of the homeland. He stated that the government has rejected the proposal, citing that it would impose an additional burden on the budget.
Deputy Minister of Defense Arman Sargsyan responded to Nazaryan's statement, particularly noting that the government did not reject the proposal on the grounds of it being an extra burden on the budget. He emphasized that the state is spending on the army, and from 2021 to 2022, we are paying off the debts of soldiers from the 2000s.
