US Congress Begins Work With a Biden-Unsanctioned Composition
The US Congress has commenced work with a new composition in the House of Representatives, controlled by Republicans who oppose Democratic President Joe Biden. This was reported by Izvestia.
Congress members began their first working day with a collective prayer.
According to the results of the November elections, the House of Representatives now consists of 222 Republicans and 212 Democrats. In the Senate (the upper chamber of Congress), the Democrats hold 51 seats, while the Republicans have 49.
On January 3, the House of Representatives will elect a new Speaker, who will replace Nancy Pelosi, a representative of the Democratic Party.
Previously, Politico political commentator Jonathan Martin noted that disagreements within the Republican Party may arise regarding support for Ukraine.
