Tenth Country Withdraws Recognition of Kosovo's Independence: Serbian Foreign Minister
The First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Serbia, Ivica Dacic, announced that a tenth country has already withdrawn its recognition of Kosovo's independence. All statements are preserved in Belgrade, but the authorities have not published a list of these countries. This information was reported by the official in an interview with 'Večernje novosti.'
According to the newspaper, the Serbian minister confirmed the information that 'another country has withdrawn recognition of Kosovo.' He also added that Serbia will intensify its efforts to retract the unilaterally declared recognition of Kosovo's independence in response to Pristina's violations of agreements with Washington, according to which the unrecognized entity has no right to apply for membership in international organizations.
Recently, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic stated that Belgrade plans to request NATO to send security forces to Kosovo, later declaring a serious escalation of the situation in the region. Following this, Russian Foreign Ministry representative Maria Zakharova stated that Russia will assist Serbia in protecting its legitimate interests in Kosovo. The diplomat noted that Moscow is concerned about the new escalation in the regional situation.
