The US and NATO Want to Destroy Russia, Lavrov Says

The US and its NATO allies seek to achieve victory over Russia on the battlefield to destroy our country, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in an interview with TASS.

According to him, the actions of the collective West and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who is under their control, confirm the global nature of the Ukrainian crisis.

"It is no longer a secret to anyone that the strategic goal of the US and its NATO allies is to defeat Russia in the battlefield as a mechanism to significantly weaken or even destroy our country," Lavrov said.

The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized that in order to achieve this goal, Russia's opponents are willing to go to great lengths.

Lavrov stated that the main beneficiary of the "hot conflict" is the US, which seeks to extract the maximum benefit both strategically and economically.

“At the same time, Washington is also addressing a geopolitically significant issue - severing the traditional ties between Russia and Europe and further subjugating European satellites,” Lavrov said.
