French Consul's Suitcase Lock Broken at Airport, Money Stolen: Aravot
On December 21, the Armenian police received a letter addressed to the head of the Armenian police from the State Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, informing that on November 5, Pierre-Alain Koffinien, the French Consul General, had checked in at Zvartnots International Airport for flight 1130 operated by Red Wings airline, bound for Yekaterinburg. This was reported by Aravot.am.
According to the same source, the embassy clarified that Koffinien had a suitcase containing a laptop and a carry-on bag, while the second piece of luggage contained cash. Upon arrival in the Russian Federation, he noticed that the lock on his suitcase had been broken and that the money was missing. An investigation is underway.
