Lachin Corridor Is Outside CSTO Responsibility Zone, Says Zas
The issue of the Lachin Corridor, which Armenia raises at the international level, is outside the responsibility zone of the CSTO, CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas told RIA Novosti.
“There have been no such applications (from Armenia regarding the Lachin Corridor), we are proceeding from the fact that this is outside the CSTO responsibility zone,” said Zas.
Earlier, Armenia had informed the International Court of Justice about Azerbaijan's blockade of the Lachin Corridor, as well as appealed to the European Court of Human Rights for interim measures against Azerbaijan and the obligation to unblock the corridor. The ECHR has given Azerbaijan until December 19, inclusive, to respond to Armenia’s application regarding the closure of the road.
