Video: Unfortunately, We Have No Concrete Results, Says Pashinyan
During a meeting of the trilateral working group held yesterday in Moscow, there were no concrete results regarding the reopening of the railway.
This was announced by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a question-and-answer session with the government in the National Assembly.
It became known yesterday that the 11th meeting of the trilateral working group co-chaired by Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk, and Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev took place in Moscow.
The agenda included the issue of the railway, specifically the reopening of the Yeraskh-Ortubad-Meghri-Horadiz railway. “Unfortunately, I cannot say that we have any concrete results,” said Pashinyan.
He reaffirmed that the proposal from the Armenian side remains in effect, and Armenia is ready to start the restoration of the railway as soon as possible.
Pashinyan reminded that the Armenian side has previously voiced its views, and they are ready to commence work on reopening the railway from the moment an agreement is recorded.
“I think it is unnecessary to say that in our understanding, the railway and the roads should operate within the framework of the Armenian legislation. At any moment when we formalize this record on paper, we are ready to start work. Regarding the roads, we are also ready to open the well-known three checkpoints and create new road infrastructure,” said the Prime Minister.
He emphasized once again that they are prepared to start the opening and reconstruction of the roads without delay within the framework of Armenian legislation.
Pashinyan noted that Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan has not yet returned, as he is still on his way back to Armenia.
