Europe's Future Should Not Be Built on 'Huge Piles of Debt' Taken on Account of Ukraine, Says Hungarian Prime Minister
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has taken to Twitter to warn that Europe could find itself in a debt pit if it blindly supports Ukraine.
Orban also denied reports that Budapest had vetoed the allocation of an €18 billion tranche to Kyiv. “This is disinformation. Hungary is ready to provide bilateral financial assistance to Ukraine. No veto, no blackmail,” Orban emphasized.
The Hungarian Prime Minister criticized the idea of solving this issue through increased debt, asserting that Europe's strong future should be built on robust member states, rather than on “huge piles of debt.”
