Aliyev Issues Order to Declare Armenian Shushi as Cultural Capital of the Turkic World
The President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, has signed an order to declare the occupied city of Shushi, taken during the 44-day war against Artsakh, as the so-called 'Cultural Capital of the Turkic World' for 2023.
According to the order, Aliyev has instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to prepare and implement a program of events, as well as to address other issues arising from the decree.
It is noteworthy that on March 31, 2022, during an extraordinary meeting of the Permanent Council of the Culture Ministers of the member countries of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) held in Bursa, Turkey, Armenian Shushi was proclaimed as the 'Cultural Capital of the Turkic World' for 2023.
