Russia Attempts to Use Winter as a Weapon Against Ukraine, Says Stoltenberg

“Russia is attempting to use winter as a weapon against Ukraine,” stated NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg today, asserting that Moscow has adopted this tactic because it cannot defeat the Ukrainians on the battlefield.

Regarding Ukraine's prospects of joining NATO, Stoltenberg emphasized that the alliance's doors are open and that Moscow has no veto power here. “Our priority, however, is to support Ukraine. We must ensure that Vladimir Putin does not gain an advantage in this war and that Ukraine emerges victorious as a sovereign European state,” Stoltenberg declared.
