The Likelihood of New Escalation Remains High: Ararat Mirzoyan
On November 25, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with Michael Siebert, the Managing Director for Russia, Eastern Partnership, Central Asia, Regional Cooperation, and OSCE at the European External Action Service.
During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed issues related to Armenia-EU cooperation and regional security. Ararat Mirzoyan and Michael Siebert exchanged views on the activities of the EU monitoring mission in Armenia.
The Armenian Foreign Minister presented the approaches of the Armenian side to establishing stability and peace in the South Caucasus. It was emphasized that Azerbaijan's bellicose rhetoric and non-constructive policy undermine efforts to establish peace, and the likelihood of new escalation remains high.
Mirzoyan also touched upon the process of normalizing relations between Armenia and Turkey.
