Two Dozen Defendants in the Case Against Gagik Tsarukyan: What We Know
The pre-trial investigation into the criminal case against Gagik Tsarukyan, the leader of the Prosperous Armenia party, is nearing completion, as stated by Tsarukyan's lawyer, Emin Khachatryan, in an interview with NEWS.am on November 23.
Khachatryan noted that there have been no recent actions taken against Tsarukyan.
It is important to mention that Tsarukyan is accused under Article 154.2 of the RA Criminal Code, which pertains to receiving bribes from voters by candidates, parties (party alliances), or referendum campaign initiatives, or bribing voters by candidates, parties (party alliances), or referendum campaign initiatives, or obstructing voters in the exercise of their free will. There are about two dozen defendants in this case.
Tsarukyan was detained on September 25, 2020, and released on November 13 after posting a bail of 100 million drams.
