Gas Supplies from Azerbaijan to Europe Must Be Increased: Gerhard Schröder
There is a need to increase gas supplies from Azerbaijan to Europe. As reported by Trend, this was stated by former German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder during the 12th Energy Summit held in Antalya on Tuesday.
Schröder noted that there is an agreement to increase the capacity of the Southern Gas Corridor to about 31 billion cubic meters in the long term, but such investments require the will and efforts of all interested parties.
“Since 2020, significant work has been done to deliver natural gas from Azerbaijan to Europe. The increase in the pipeline's capacity is crucial for strengthening Turkey's role as an energy hub,” he said.
