Iran Summons Azerbaijani Ambassador to Foreign Ministry
The Azerbaijani ambassador to Iran, Ali Alizadeh, has been summoned once again to the country’s Foreign Ministry to receive a note of protest. As reported by the Regnum agency, the announcement was made to reporters by Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nasser Kanaani Chafi.
“The ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan has been summoned, and a note of protest has been handed to him,” he stated.
The Foreign Ministry spokesperson indicated that this action was taken in connection with the “criminal” activities of several Azerbaijani citizens in Iran. He stated that the ambassador was presented with evidence and facts supporting the allegations.
It is noteworthy that on November 11, the Iranian Foreign Ministry had previously summoned the Azerbaijani ambassador in Tehran to deliver a note of protest concerning the propaganda campaign against Iran conducted by Azerbaijani officials and media.
