US Deploys Military Aircraft to Iran

The US has dispatched military aircraft to Iran amid reports that Iran is preparing an attack towards Saudi Arabia, according to the Washington Post, which did not specify when the aircraft were sent.

“As the latest intelligence reports warned of imminent Iranian ballistic missile and drone attacks on targets in Saudi Arabia, the US Central Command deployed Gulf Air Forces to Iran as part of heightened alert for US and Saudi forces,” the publication states.

Earlier, The Wall Street Journal reported that Saudi Arabia had shared intelligence with the US concerning a “nearby attack” by Iran on targets within its territory. Subsequently, the spokesperson for Iran's Foreign Ministry, Nasser Kanani Chafin, stated that Western countries are deliberately escalating tensions against Iran by claiming that Tehran is allegedly preparing to strike Saudi Arabia.
