Shirakan Mijazn: About Presenting the Upcoming Tree Planting Under a Political Context

The Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Armenia has issued a clarification regarding the nationwide tree planting event scheduled for November 5.

The released statement notes: “Since yesterday, there have been attempts to present the choice of the date for this year’s autumn nationwide tree planting on November 5 under a political context. We find it necessary to inform that the date for the autumn nationwide tree planting was chosen months ago. Preparatory and planting works for the autumn 2022 tree plantings are already underway and will continue until the planned total number of trees is planted.”

“The date for the nationwide tree planting was announced on October 28 of this year, while the announcement regarding the rally scheduled for November 5 was made two days later, on October 30. Therefore, we urge everyone to refrain from spreading obvious misinformation about this crucial environmental event and intentionally subjecting the public to informational manipulation.”
