EU on Meeting of Armenia and Azerbaijan Border Commissions
The European Union has praised the constructive atmosphere in which the third meeting of the border commissions of Armenia and Azerbaijan took place on November 3 in Brussels. This was announced by Nabila Massralin, spokesperson for the EU’s foreign affairs and security policy service.
“The European Union hosted the third meeting of the border commissions of Armenia and Azerbaijan in Brussels. The meeting followed the agreements reached during the high-level discussions held in Brussels between European Council President Charles Michel, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. The European Union appreciates the constructive atmosphere in which the meeting was held and the willingness of the parties to continue working towards resolving border issues as well as improving the security situation,” the statement said.
It should be noted that on November 3 in Brussels, the third meeting of the State Border Demarcation and Border Security Commission between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as the State Commission on the state border demarcation between Azerbaijan and Armenia, was held under the co-chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan of Armenia and Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev of Azerbaijan. In order to establish the legal framework for the joint activities of the commissions, the parties agreed to expedite the work on the coordination of procedures for the joint activities of the State Border Demarcation and Border Security Commission between Armenia and Azerbaijan and the State Commission on state border demarcation between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
