Russia Ready to Discuss Tension Reduction with the West, But Only If...
Russia is ready to discuss tension reduction with the West, but only if realistic proposals are made based on equal rights approaches, stated Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. The information was conveyed by RIA Novosti.
“We are always ready to listen to our Western partners if they turn to us with another request to organize a conversation. I hope that, apart from communication through diplomatic channels and other means, we can be offered some serious approaches that will contribute to the reduction of tension and fully take into account the interests of the Russian Federation and its security,” Lavrov said.
He also added, “If we are approached with realistic proposals based on the principles of equal rights and mutual respect, which are aimed at finding compromises and balance of interests for all countries in that region, then for us, as it has always been in the past, there will be no problem.”
