What Azerbaijan Is Trying to Do: Taron Chakhoyan
The Deputy Head of the Office of the Prime Minister of Armenia, Taron Chakhoyan, writes: "By violating the ceasefire regime at the border with Armenia, Azerbaijan is attempting to undermine the visit and mission of the EU observer group that has visited Armenia. Recent incidents of ceasefire violations by Azerbaijan at the border with Armenia have clear objectives.
The Azerbaijani side spreads false news daily, claiming that the Armenian side has violated the ceasefire, and then it is the Azerbaijani side that breaks it. They fire in the direction of their own positions, pretending that the Armenian side has fired, and then they shoot at Armenian positions.
Through these actions, the Azerbaijani side is trying to resolve two issues: 1) They are creating informational grounds for further escalation with false news; 2) By continually violating the ceasefire regime, Azerbaijan is attempting to discredit the EU observation mission that has visited Armenia."
