«I Said Something Foolish Yesterday»: First Channel Host Apologizes
Russian First Channel’s host Anatoly Kuzichov apologized live on air for his mistake during the previous broadcast, where he claimed that the recent clashes between Armenia and Azerbaijan occurred not on the territory of the Republic of Armenia, but in Nagorno-Karabakh.
“I said something foolish yesterday, I made a mistake, and I didn’t correct it. Some of our experts here later pointed it out to me, but it didn’t appear very accentuated. And since our program is known for being responsible for our words, let’s make sure that’s the case this time too. I made a mistake yesterday. Of course, we were talking about border areas within the state’s territory, not about the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh or Artsakh. We were specifically talking about the territory of the state, specifically the territories of Armenia. I apologize for that foolish mistake and want to say (in Armenian) ‘thank you,’” Kuzichov said on the Russian First Channel.
