Iran's Foreign Ministry Addresses Recent Developments on the Armenia-Azerbaijan Border
The official representative of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Saeed Khatibzadeh, has commented on the recent military actions that have occurred on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border, which began following Azerbaijan's attack on Armenia.
Iran believes that the political will of the two countries, along with regional frameworks and joint efforts from neighbors, will help resolve the conflicts in the Caucasus. “The Islamic Republic of Iran has repeatedly stated its sincere position on the events taking place in the South Caucasus. Unfortunately, we have once again witnessed a new phase of conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia, which has resulted in casualties and injuries on both sides. Based on its friendly policies and principles aimed at the rapid resolution of regional crises, Iran has made political efforts,” Khatibzadeh said, as reported by Armenpress.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry representative emphasized that Tehran believes it is necessary to use political approaches and solutions to cease conflicts, reduce tensions, and engage in political dialogue to resolve border disputes between the two countries. “Iran will also not accept any geopolitical changes in the region,” he added.
