Border Incident Has No Relation to Karabakh: Putin
The recent incident on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan has no connection to Karabakh. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin during a press conference on the sidelines of the SCO summit in Samarkand, according to RIA Novosti.
"The recent border incident has absolutely no connection to Karabakh; it is in a completely different region—on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan," Putin said.
It is worth noting that on the midnight of September 13, units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces opened intense fire towards Armenian positions located in several sectors of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border using artillery, mortars, UAVs, and large-caliber firearms. Positions located in Sotk, Vardenis, Goris, Kapan, Artanish, and Ishkhanasar were shelled, and strikes also targeted civilian infrastructure. According to official data, the Armenian side currently has 135 casualties.
