19-Year-Old Edmond from Yerevan Was Killed After One Year of Service

On the night of September 13, conscript soldier Edmond Sargsyan was killed due to the military aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan. The 19-year-old Edmond was from Yerevan, residing in the Victory neighborhood. He was studying in the Fine Arts Photography department at the Armenian State Pedagogical University and was a member of the student council.

“Edmond was a very modest, disciplined, and patriotic guy. He had an older sister who works in the same field. His sister had recently married, and Edmond had come home during his leave to attend the wedding,” said Edmond Sargsyan's homeroom teacher, Rouzanna Hakobyan, in an interview with NEWS.am.

Edmond was drafted into the army last summer and was serving in the military unit in Jermuk.

It is important to note that starting from 00:05 on September 13, Azerbaijani armed forces began intensive fire towards Armenian positions in the directions of Goris, Kapan, Sotk, Jermuk, Artanish, and Ishkhanasar using artillery weapons and large-caliber rifles, as well as UAVs. The adversary is targeting both military and civilian objects, and in some directions is undertaking offensive actions. The Armenian side has reported 49 casualties and 80 injured, including three civilians.
