Blast Conducted on Road to Jermuk; Route Closed in Both Directions
An artificial explosion has been carried out on the stretch of road leading from the M-2 interstate highway to the city of Jermuk, resulting in the route being closed in both directions. This information was provided by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia.
The Roads Department Foundation has announced that the M2, Gndevaz-Jermuk highway section (at km 0+500) will be temporarily closed as of September 7 at 19:00. For safety reasons, works involving rock blasting and artificial rockfall management will be executed.
Earlier, the Roads Department reported that a rockfall of 70-80 cubic meters had occurred in the specified area, leading to the highway being closed in both directions. The department stated that additional information will be provided.
