Iran Supplies Drones to Russia, Says White House
The U.S. administration asserts that Iran has supplied drones to Russia. This information was reported by TASS: “In our assessment, Russia received ‘Mohajer-6’ and ‘Shahed’ series drones from Iran within a few days in August. Russian transport aircraft were loaded with drones at one of Iran's airports and then flew to Russia. These are our assessments,” stated White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.
It is worth recalling that at the end of July, John Kirby, the coordinator for strategic communications at the National Security Council (NSC), mentioned that the U.S. had seen no signs that Russia’s Ministry of Defense was purchasing Iranian military drones.
In turn, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nasser Kanaani denied reports of a possible transfer of UAVs to Russia. The diplomat also added that Iran’s position regarding the situation in Ukraine is clear and has been stated multiple times.
