Statement Regarding False Bomb Threats
The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia continues to maintain high vigilance and carry out all necessary actions prescribed for such emergency reports, as informed by the Armenian Unified Information Center.
“Dear citizens,
In recent months, reports of bomb placements have been conveyed to various authorities mainly through electronic mail. Identifying the senders of these emails is often a prolonged and complicated process. Discovering and holding accountable those who make false threats is further complicated by the fact that often the senders of these emails are citizens of other countries.
According to Armenian legislative regulations, when a report about a bomb is received, citizens must be evacuated from the indicated targets for security reasons, and verification works must be carried out.
Although all previous reports have been false, the relevant subdivisions of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia continue to maintain high vigilance and carry out all necessary actions prescribed for such emergency reports.”
