General Seyran Saroyan Has Passed Away
General Seyran (Sedrak) Saroyan, a former member of the National Assembly, has passed away. This has been reported by Armenian media.
Saroyan was born on September 3, 1967, in Ejmiatsin. He graduated from the Higher Academic Courses of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia in 1993 and from the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Russia in 2006, specializing in "State Military Security."
From 1985 to 1987, Saroyan served in the Soviet Army. He actively participated in the Artsakh movement. Under his command, a unit that later became the "Ardzvik-10" battalion fought in the battles for the liberation of Karvachar, Kashatagh, and Kovsakan.
From 1993 to 2007, he was a commander of a battalion, brigade, and then of the 2nd and 4th corps of the Armenian Armed Forces. In 2000, he was awarded the rank of Major General. In 1994, he was awarded the “Medal of Courage” by the President of Armenia, the “Combat Cross” in 1996, and in 2006, the “Medal for Services to the Homeland” of the first degree.
