French Lawmaker Suggests Lifting Anti-Russian Sanctions for Ukraine's Sake

French parliament member and spokesperson for the "National Rally" party, Laurent Jacobelli, has stated that Paris should remove the restrictions of anti-Russian sanctions to relieve the burden of their consequences on the French citizens and to address the issue in Ukraine.

The lawmaker noted that despite the sanctions, things in Russia are not as "bad" as one might think, pointing out that the ruble has strengthened and exports have increased, which cannot be said for France, where residents are currently burdened with high electricity costs.

“Only the countries that have imposed these sanctions are suffering from them, including the French,” Jacobelli's words are quoted by Valeurs Actuelles.
