‘Saying is not enough, Armenia needs to take clear steps’: Cavusoglu
Turkey's Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu stated in an interview with a Turkish television outlet that Armenia must demonstrate its desire for peace in the region and must take clear steps in that direction.
“Saying is not enough. Armenia needs to take certain clear steps, including regarding the Zangezur project and a comprehensive peace agreement. We are sincere; we want to see how sincere Armenia is,” said the Turkish Foreign Minister.
Çavuşoğlu emphasized that Armenia and others should not forget that the Armenian-Turkish normalization process should actually be coordinated with Azerbaijan and is a trilateral process, as Turkey and Azerbaijan are “one nation, two states.”
“If there is to be peace in the region, everyone should take steps in a trilateral format in that direction,” he added.
