Preventing Traffic Accidents Involving Military Personnel: Papikyan Issues Directives
On June 28, under the leadership of Armenian Minister of Defense Suren Papikyan, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Defense administrative complex, attended by the leadership of the Ministry of Defense, Armed Forces, and General Staff, as well as commanders of military units via video link.
The Ministry of Defense reports that during the meeting, several issues related to discipline within the armed forces were discussed. These included the enforcement of orders regarding the prohibition of smartphone use and measures aimed at preventing recent frequent traffic accidents involving military personnel.
Suren Papikyan issued strict directives to the heads of the relevant units to keep these issues under close attention and to report on the work done and its results within a reasonable timeframe. Reports were also provided by those responsible for construction works on the front line. The Defense Minister instructed to take effective measures to ensure that the work is carried out to the required quality and within the set deadlines.
