Tragic Car Accident in Yerevan: 1 Dead, 1 Injured
On June 21, a major and tragic car accident occurred in Yerevan. At around 03:40, on Ashtarak highway, in front of Melkumov's address 26/2, a 29-year-old resident of Yerevan, Grant Qalechyan, lost control of his Opel vehicle. He veered off the road, collided with an iron pillar, breaking it, and then continued forward, crashing into an electric pole on the sidewalk, knocking it down before ultimately coming to a stop on the sidewalk.
According to reports from shamshyan.com, as a result of the accident, Grant Qalechyan died at the scene, while his passenger, 30-year-old Volodya Muradyan, also a resident of Yerevan, was transported to Armenia Medical Center with critical injuries. Bystanders and patrol officers were the first to assist the injured, and the medical team acted swiftly, providing first aid before transferring the injured to the hospital.
