Emergency Incident in Yerevan: 30-Year-Old Driver Plunges into Lake Karapi
On June 10, an emergency incident occurred in Yerevan: around 23:00, a 30-year-old resident of Yerevan, Eduard Gasparyan, lost control of his Mercedes vehicle on Teryan Street. The car veered off the roadway, collided with an advertising board, and subsequently crashed near Lake Karapi, hitting three trees before ending up half-tilted in the lake.
Photo journalist Gagik Shamshyan reports that, according to preliminary information, fortunately, there were no casualties. The driver was subjected to a sobriety test on-site, which confirmed that he was sober.
Preliminary reports suggest that there was an issue with the vehicle's brakes, causing the driver to lose control and end up in this situation. Currently, patrol officers are waiting for special equipment to arrive and safely extract the car from the area.
