Extraordinary Incident in Yerevan: Passenger Smoked on the Bus and Stabbed the Driver
Today, on June 9th, an attempted murder occurred in Yerevan. At approximately 08:35, a call was received by the police station in Nor Nork from the 'St. Grigor Lusavorich' medical center, stating that a citizen had been transferred with a diagnosis of a 'stab wound in the left anterior aortic line.'
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the operational group of the Nor Nork police station, led by station chief Igor Mesropyan, headed to the hospital. The doctors informed the police that the injured individual was unable to provide an explanation regarding the incident as they were currently in surgery. Meanwhile, police officers from the Nor Nork station managed to identify the victim, a 65-year-old resident of Yerevan named Arthur M.
According to information from the photojournalist, the suspect in the attempted murder boarded bus number 42 in the morning and upon arriving in the Nor Nork administrative district, stated to Arthur M., the bus driver, that smoking was prohibited on the transport and urged him to refrain from smoking. However, he continued to smoke and then stabbed the driver with a knife he had on him. When the driver was transported to the hospital, the knife was found embedded in his body.
Notice: The suspect in the alleged crime is considered innocent until proven guilty by a lawful court decision, in accordance with the procedures established by the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia.
