300,000 Dram Bribe: Charges Filed Against Armen Simonian
Armen Simonian has been charged for accepting a bribe of 300,000 AMD, while serving as the head of the third division of the Department of Urban Development and Land Control at the Yerevan City Hall. According to Armlur.am, Simonian, in his capacity as a public official representing the authorities, colluded with the chief specialist of the same division, Karapet Simonian, to solicit this unlawful payment on behalf of Arusyak Baghramyan.
Furthermore, Karapet Simonian has also been charged for his involvement in this scheme. He, while holding the position of chief specialist in the same department, similarly accepted a bribe of 300,000 AMD for his inaction in favor of Arusyak Baghramyan, coordinating with Armen Simonian.
Arusyak Baghramyan is facing charges for offering the bribe to both officials, Armen Simonian and Karapet Simonian, as compensation for their apparent unlawful inaction. The case is currently in court.
