When Will Tsitsernakaberd Highway Open?
Construction work on the Tsitsernakaberd Highway, following the road's collapse, will be completed in 4-5 days, and it will fully reopen, announced Yerevan Mayor Hrachya Sargsyan in the National Assembly.
Commenting on the ongoing construction along the roadside, the mayor stated that at this moment there is no record indicating that the contractor was at fault. "There was simply construction taking place, and due to the rain and also the vibrations from the construction, a collapse occurred. At this moment, the contractor is restoring the road at his own expense. I believe that similar incidents could happen with any contractor working in that section. The road will be fully reopened in about 4-5 days. Work is being done in two shifts, starting from 6 AM," Sargsyan said.
