Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer stated during a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin that "Gazprom will lose the Haidach gas storage if it does not fill it with gas," as reported by UNIAN.
"Austria will open the Haidach gas storage to other companies if the Russian company Gazprom does not utilize it," the Austrian Chancellor's words were quoted by Kleine Zeitung.
Located in Salzburg, Gazprom's Haidach storage is the largest in Austria and the second largest in Central Europe. It was constructed by Gazprom in partnership with its subsidiary WINGAS. The storage capacity is 2.8 billion cubic meters.
