"Such a question was not discussed in Brussels". Pashinyan on the Brussels meeting
The issue of enclaves was not discussed at the trilateral meeting held in Brussels. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this during a Q&A session with the government, referring to reports that the exchange of enclaves was on the agenda in Brussels.
"Such a question was not discussed in Brussels, but Azerbaijan raises this issue in various formats, either implicitly or directly. We have stated that we need to delve into the legal justifications in all processes. So far, our studies have not recorded that there are de jure Azerbaijani enclaves in the territory of the Republic of Armenia, but we have noted that Artsvashen is de jure part of the Republic of Armenia," Pashinyan said, adding that the delimitation process has begun.
According to him, there is no need to dramatize these issues further, as they are already dramatic in nature. Pashinyan noted that yes, Azerbaijan raises the issue of enclaves, but the Armenian side has a clear stance on this.
He assured that no one is planning to do anything behind the backs of the people or the people of Artsakh, and if there is a specific proposal regarding specific solutions, the public will be informed.
Pashinyan mentioned that the issue of enclaves was raised recently because the statement from the Brussels meeting indicated that there should be communication between Armenia and Armenia, as well as between Azerbaijan and Azerbaijan. He clarified that this refers, for instance, to the railway communication between Yeraskh and Meghri, which could de jure create opportunities for road communication.
