Video: An Internal Investigation Launched Against a Police Officer Who Threw a Bottle at Citizens
An internal investigation has been launched against a police officer who threw a bottle at citizens during a demonstration near the Yerevan City Hall yesterday. This was confirmed by the Armenian police in response to a question from Factinfo.
As previously reported, during the protests in Yerevan yesterday, citizens blocked the Yerevan City Hall for about 1.5 hours, closing all entrances and encircling the area surrounding the City Hall. A significant police presence was concentrated in the area, and the situation was quite tense. Cameras captured footage of one police officer throwing a bottle towards the citizens, which could have incited a confrontation, and only due to the vigilance of opposition figures was an escalation avoided.
