France's Constitutional Council Confirms Macron's Reelection as President
France's Constitutional Council has officially confirmed Emmanuel Macron's reelection as President of the Republic, effective from May 14. "Macron has received an absolute majority of votes; therefore, the Constitutional Council declares Mr. Macron the new President of the Republic," quoted the Council's president, Laurent Fabius, by RIA Novosti.
The new presidential mandate will come into force on May 14. Macron won the presidential elections with 58.55 percent of the votes, following the counting of all ballots.
