Russian KAMAZ Plant to Operate in Azerbaijani-Occupied Territories

It is anticipated that in the second quarter of 2022, a plant of the Russian KAMAZ company will be launched in the territory of Artsakh that came under Baku's control following the 44-day war. Trend reports that this was stated by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk during a plenary session of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation between Russia and Azerbaijan held in Baku.

According to him, the parties will continue to work on developing trade and economic cooperation. Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev mentioned that Russian companies have presented 17 projects they intend to implement in currently occupied areas of Artsakh.

It is worth reminding that on November 9, 2020, the leaders of Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan reached an agreement regarding the deployment of Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh. A statement was signed, which stipulates that seven regions, Shushi, and Hadrut, with the exception of one village, as well as the villages of Askeran and Martuni regions, as well as the villages of Talish and Mataghis in the Martakert region, transfer to Azerbaijan.
