Macron Refuses to Follow Biden's Example
The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, has refused to follow the example of U.S. President Joe Biden and describe Russia's actions in the war against Ukraine as "genocide." In an interview with France 2, he addressed the question of whether he would use the term "genocide" to refer to the killings of Ukrainians by Russian soldiers.
"Today, I would be cautious with such terms because these two peoples are brothers," Macron said.
Macron, who is running for a second term, mentioned that Paris is cooperating with Kyiv regarding the investigation of potential war crimes, as reported by CNN.
It is worth noting that U.S. President Joe Biden referred to Russian leader Vladimir Putin as a "dictator" during a speech in Iowa and described the ongoing military operation in Ukraine by Russia as "genocide."
