Biden Extends State of Emergency Due to Russian Actions

U.S. President Joe Biden has decided to extend the state of emergency declared on April 15, 2021, in connection with the policies pursued by the Russian Federation. This was stated in a presidential notification addressed to Congressional leaders, published on the White House website.

“I have determined that it is necessary to maintain the state of emergency declared in Executive Order 14024 due to the unusual and extraordinary threat posed by the actions and policies of the Government of the Russian Federation,” the document states.

The American leader again accused Russia of interfering in elections in the United States and other countries, as well as engaging in hostile cyber activities. It also mentions “Moscow's efforts” to undermine free and fair democratic elections and democratic institutions in the United States and its allied countries.
