Citizens Struggle to Reach Armenia for a Month: Vehicle Line at Lars Stretching Nearly 100 Kilometers

For several days now, a large number of citizens outside Armenia have been reporting that they have been in a hostage-like situation for more than a month. SHAMSHYAN.com writes about this.

“From Lars to Minvody, passenger and freight vehicles have been stuck and unable to move for a month. The Armenian Embassy in Georgia has been repeatedly informed about the situation, yet we have not seen any progress. The line of vehicles stretches almost 100 km. Many drivers are now facing problems with food and hygiene. We want to understand why the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is receiving salaries and bonuses at the expense of taxpayers when we feel like slaves outside Armenia. Does the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have so little shame that it doesn’t think about resolving this issue? Otherwise, their words are empty when they say everything is in order. If people have been trapped for over a month, what issue is there to resolve? Perhaps this situation is familiar to them, but it is humiliating for us. We are dying trying to call anyone, but to no avail. They say the problem will be solved in 1-2 days, yet it seems as if ailments are better left unaddressed, or worse, one might as well wait for spring. We are confident that the solution to this issue can only be provided by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. A call from him to his counterparts in Georgia and Russia would be enough for this 100-kilometer line to safely reach Armenia in a matter of days. So, we do not expect goodwill from either the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the Armenian Embassy in Georgia. Our only hope is Mr. Pashinyan,” the drivers say.
