Police Discover 28-Year-Old Driver Involved in Fatal Hit-and-Run
On March 6, the police of the Kotayk Regional Department of the Republic of Armenia discovered the driver who had fled the scene after causing a fatal hit-and-run accident on the Yerevan-Sevan highway within the administrative territory of Charentsavan.
According to shamshyan.com, police and investigators made extensive efforts to identify the suspect, and following explanatory work, a 28-year-old named Balabek G. voluntarily presented himself to the Charentsavan police station. He reportedly confessed that he had caused the accident while driving a BYD car around 2:00 AM on the same day.
It is noteworthy that on March 6, a fatal hit-and-run accident had occurred in the Kotayk region. At approximately 8:30 AM, the Charentsavan police department received a report of a body found on the Yerevan-Sevan highway at the 30.5 km mark, outside the roadway. Police and investigators discovered the body of 50-year-old Gnel Stepanyan, a citizen of Armenia and Russia, residing in Hrazdan, outside the traffic area.
