Systematic sanctions that Western countries intend to impose against Russia should include a refusal of Russian oil and gas. This was stated on Thursday by UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson while addressing the House of Commons.
“During the G7 leaders’ meeting today, we agreed to act systematically so that Putin pays the maximum economic price for his aggression. This should include the cessation of Europe’s collective dependence on Russian oil and gas, which has given Putin far too much power for too long. That’s why I welcome Chancellor Olaf Scholz's excellent decision to halt the certification of 'Nord Stream-2',” Johnson said.
